Allegany County: The Town Board of the Town of Belfast , as lead agency, has determined that the Town of Belfast Water System Improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves development of two new well sources, construction of a new treatment facility, and installation of a new raw water and finished water transmission main. The new treatment facility will be located at the new well site along New Road. The treatment provided will include iron and arsenic removal and disinfection. The existing four wells and treatment building will be abandoned. The existing storage reservoirs will remain. The Town will also relocate the Water Departmentís office and garage to the new treatment plant site. Adequate space will be provided for an office, the testing laboratory, chemical storage, and vehicle storage and maintenance. The project is located on New Road, Town of Belfast, Allegany County approximately 800 feet south of South Street.

Cattaraugus County - The Village of Cattaraugus, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Water Supply Improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the reconnection of Public Water Supplies from Kelley Summit, Kenyon Hill and Mayo Road Springs VIA the construction of (2) Slow Sand Filter Facilities. Also, the replacement of a portion of the 100-year-old Spring Water Transmission Pipelines to bring the system up to present standards. The project is located in the Village of Cattaraugus.

The action involves construction of telecommunications tower and associated equipment at 251 Quaker Road.

Erie County - The Town of Hamburg, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Retail-Milestrip Road (Tops Supermarket/Benderson Development Company, Inc.). A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on January 26, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Hamburg Town Hall, S-6100 South Park Avenue, Hamburg, NY 14075. Comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until February 13, 2004. The action involves construction of an approximately 61,000 square foot supermarket on approximately 12 acres. The project also includes associated parking, landscaping and access drive, sanitary sewer, water, storm drainage, and other necessary site improvements and infrastructure. The action also requires a change in zoning from R-2 Single-family Residence to C-2 General Commercial for approximately 7 acres of the 12-acre site. The project is located on Milestrip Road (at I-90 - Exit 56), Town of Hamburg.
