The applicant proposes to
repair a deteriorated bulkhead and foundation at the Snapple
warehouse building located at 212 Wolcott Street in Brooklyn. The proposed work
consists of encasing deteriorated foundation piles with concrete and/or fiberglass jackets,
sealing the bulkhead with timber sheets and backfilling behind the bulkhead to replace fill
lost through holes. Approximately 5,500 cubic yards of controlled low strength material
low density fill will be pumped under the building in a slurry mixture to restore lost fill.
A concrete cap will be cast in-place between the bulkhead and the top of the fill to seal
off the foundation from wave scour.

The applicant is requesting
a ten-year maintenance dredging permit for the Fort Wadsworth station
with the intent of creating/maintaining navigable and safe access to the pier. Fort Wadsworth is located
on the east shore of Staten Island in the Roseland section.
The initial proposed
dredging event would be to a depth of 9 feet below Mean Low Water covering an
area of approximately 6,098 square feet. Sediment test data indicated the presence of a petroleum
sheen and odor in a small section of the proposed dredge area. The source of the contamination has
yet to be determined. The Applicant is working closely with the NYS Department of Environmental
Conservation to identify the source.

The applicant proposes to
reconstruct the historic stairs from Biddle House toward the
beach including clearing of invasive vegetation, bioengineering to restore eroding gulley
in the steep slope of the clay bluff, construct bird blind and boardwalk near the edge of
NYSDEC regulated Class I Freshwater Wetland AR-15 (Tottenville), remove concrete
debris from beach area at the Manhattan Street Overlook including construction of a
seating area and establishment of native plantings within existing paved areas, remove
concrete debris from beach area and construct an overlook within an existing concrete
structure at Spraque Avenue including a new stone rip-rap revetment and wetland
plantings, clear invasive vines and exotic understory near Page Avenue and expand an
existing wood chip area with a gravel parking lot with a wood edge. The proposed work
also includes construction of a new eight foot wide carriage path west of Brighton Street
to Massachusetts Street and connecting to the Arthur Kill Overlook. The project is
located within Conference House Park which is bounded by Raritan Bay, Satterlee Street
and Billop Avenue.
