Negative Declaration

Erie County - The Town Board of the Town Of Amherst, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Zoning Ordinance Amendment Length of Cul-de-Sac and Dead Ends will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves an amendment to Section 203-8-20 of the Amherst Town Code relating to the length of cul-de-sac and dead ends. The proposed amendment would alter the current Zoning Ordinance by clarifying that the maximum length of a cul-de-sac, dead end or street with only one point of access, which is not to exceed 800 feet in length, shall be determined by including the length of an entrance island for the street, regardless of the width of the street on either side of the island. The petitioner is the Town of Amherst, 5583 Main Street, Williamsville, NY.

Erie County - The Town Board of the Town Of Amherst , as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Rezoning of 5045 Sheridan Drive will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the rezoning of 1.69 acres of land from Single-Family Residential District Three (R-3) to Community Facilities (CF) for the proposed construction of a new Hutchinson Hose fire hall to be located at 5045 Sheridan Drive, Amherst, NY (Z-8-03). The petitioner is the Town of Amherst, 5583 Main Street, Williamsville, NY.

The property is currently vacant and is located on the south side of Sheridan Drive, approximately 400 feet west of its intersection with Mill Street. This site is proposed for construction of a new 11,000 sq. ft. Hutchinson Hose fire hall with 60 parking spaces. (The existing 2.11 acre fire hall site located at 5005 Sheridan Drive is proposed for future use by the Amherst Youth Board.). The project is located at 5045 Sheridan Drive, Amherst.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Draft EIS And Public Hearing

Erie County - The Town of Hamburg, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Retail - Milestrip Road (Tops Supermarket/Benderson Development Company, Inc.). A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on January 26, 2003 at 7:00 PM at the Town of Hamburg Town Hall, S-6100 South Park Avenue, Hamburg, NY. Comments on the Draft GEIS are requested and will be accepted by the contact person listed below until February 13, 2004. The action involves Benderson Development Company, Inc. proposing to construct an approximately 61,000 square foot supermarket on approximately 12 acres. The project also includes associated parking, landscaping and access drive, sanitary sewer, water, storm drainage, and other necessary site improvements and infrastructure. The action requires a change in zoning from R-2 Single-Family Residence to C-2 General Commercial for approximately 7 acres of the 12-acre site. The project is located on Milestrip Road (at I-90 Exit 56), in the Town of Hamburg.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Final Generic EIS

Erie County - The Town Board, Town of Tonawanda, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Colvin Woods Business Park - I-290 Colvin Associates. LLC Ciminelli Development Company. The action involves review and approval of the Special Use Permit application for a 30-acre wooded parcel within the Elmlawn Cemetery. The project consists of construction, over an 84-month period, of up to 10 single-story buildings totaling approximately 312,000 +/- square feet of office/warehouse/flex space. The project also includes necessary sanitary sewer, water (for potable uses and fire protection), stormwater drainage, parking and roadways, electricity, natural gas and other infrastructure. The plans also include the potential construction of a new public access road to run along the northern boundary of Kenney Field connecting Colvin Boulevard to the proposed Business Park, and a 50 +/- space parking lot on Kenney Field. The project is located in Colvin Woods Business Park which is located in the Town of Tonawanda, Erie County, in the northeastern section of the Elmlawn Cemetery, adjacent immediately south of the Youngmann Highway (Interstate-290). The project site has a street address of 3939 Delaware Avenue (cemetery), but access is from Colvin Boulevard.

Erie County - The Board of Trustees of the Village of Hamburg, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Village of Hamburg Comprehensive Plan. The plan was prepared in response to the desire of the community to protect the character of the Village; and to encourage new residential, commercial/office, and light industrial development in a planned manner that will preserve important environmental and social/cultural resources. This action also includes certain ancillary activities including the amendment of the Village's zoning regulations to enact the measures recommended in the Village of Hamburg.
