Monroe County proposes to provide sewerage to two primary areas: the Mill Seat Landfill and the Village of Churchville including 4.5 miles of 6-inch diameter force main installed between the landfill and the Village of Churchville and approximately 4 miles of 10-inch diameter force main installed between the Village of Churchville and the Monroe County Pure Waters’ Gates-Chili-Ogden Sewer District.  The project also includes an additional dry spare force main which will be constructed along the same alignment as the project force mains. The project will include limited additional capacity to serve potential secondary service areas adjacent to the landfill and the Village.  Random connections to the force main will not be allowed as the force main is only accessible at the pump stations and discharge points, the landfill and Village, respectively.  The Village of Churchville WWTF will be taken off line after this project is completed. The project will allow the direct pumping of leachate from the landfill and sewerage from the areas described to the Frank E. Van Laer wastewater treatment facility. The project requires crossing State Freshwater Wetlands RG-10 and RG-2, and Black Creek.  A Solid Waste Management Facility Permit modification is required for the proposed changes at the Mill Seat landfill.
