The applicant requests a
modification of a permit issued by the Department in 1998 to
straighten and realign 2,150 feet of the Demarest Kill (Class: "C(T)"). The modification
is twofold:
1. To
extend the channelization another 1500 feet downstream (northward) and;
2. To
add rock rip-rap to the stream channel for scour protection. The location of the
project called the "Cranford Drive Flood Amelioration Project" extends from just north of
Route 304 northward to almost the confluence with the West Branch of Hackensack
River.
