Public Hearing

Suffolk County - A public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Southampton on November 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, NY to hear any and all persons either for or against "A Local Law 330-11.2 of the Town Code of the Town of Southampton in order to further restrict accessory apartments within the Town of Southampton."


Suffolk County - A public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Southampton on October 28, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton to hear all persons either for or against "Local Law to amend Chapter 330-321 Article XVIII (Landmarks and Historic Districts and Heritage Resource Area) of the Code of the Town of Southampton."


Negative Declaration

Nassau County - The Nassau County Planning Commission, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Horizon at Jericho will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a subdivision into twenty-nine (29) residential lots. A coordinated review was performed. A Structural-Archaeological Assessment has been completed. According to ORPHP the proposed activity will not impact registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures on the site because the Ketcham House will be reconstructed. The project is located at 555 Jericho Turnpike, Hamlet of Jericho, Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County New York (former Jericho Run Horse Farm).

Notice Of Acceptance Of Final Generic EIS

Suffolk County - The Town Board of Riverhead, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Draft Comprehensive Plan of the Town of Riverhead. The action is the preparation of an updated town wide Comprehensive Plan pursuant to Section 272-a of State Town Law for the purpose of future location and character of development throughout the municipality. The project is located within the statutory boundary of the Township of Riverhead.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Final EIS

Nassau County - The Board of Education of the Hempstead Union Free School District, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed District Reorganization and Associated Improvements to School Properties. Written comments on the FEIS will be accepted by the contact person until October 27, 2003 at 5:00 p.m. The DEIS is available for public review at the office of the contact person, office of the District Clerk and at the Hempstead Public Library at 115 Nichols Court, Hempstead, New York 11550. The action involves the Board of Education of the Hempstead Union Free School District proposing a bond referendum and other interim actions (closure of the Prospect School, potential closure of the Marguerite G. Rhodes Elementary School, relocation of District offices and the placement of portable classrooms on school sites) to improve educational facilities in the District. The Board of Education is specifically proposing a reorganization plan that includes the redistribution of students in the District to avoid overcrowding at some facilities and the underutilization of spaces at others. The specific projects include proposed demolition and reconstruction of the existing Marguerite G. Rhodes School; proposed demolition and reconstruction of the existing Prospect School; proposed expansion of the Franklin Elementary School; proposed expansion of the Fulton Elementary School; proposed expansion of the Jackson Annex; proposed expansion of the Jackson (Main) Elementary School; proposed expansion of the Ludlum Elementary School; proposed expansion of the Marshall Street School; proposed expansion of the Alverta B. Gray Schultz Middle School; proposed expansion of the Hempstead High School; and placement of various portable classrooms during construction. The project is located in the Hempstead Union Free School District, Incorporated Village of Hempstead, Nassau County, New York.
