permit for a proposed discharge of up to 0.60 million gallons per day of treated
wastewater into Bergen Basin (Class I) from a settling treatment system at the applicant’s
construction site located at North Conduit Avenue in Queens where the applicant is
constructing storm sewers and related appurtenances. A draft permit is available for
inspection and comment at the regional office.

The applicant proposes fender
improvements and scour backfill at the Throgs Neck
Bridge between Locust Point, Bronx and Cryders Point, Queens. The proposed work
includes installation of new fender piles around Queens Piers 19 and 20 and adjacent to
Bronx Piers 46 through 57. The total water column displacement for the new fender piles
is 174.4 cubic yards. To prevent erosion, 4,300 cubic yards of stone will be used for scour
backfill around Queens Pier 20 and Bronx Piers 42, 47, 49, 52, 55 and 56.
