Meeting Notice

The Technical Advisory Committee of the Watershed Protection and Partnership Council (WPPC) will meet on Thursday, October 16, 2003 at 10:00 a.m., at the offices of the Empire State Development Corporation, 33 Airport Center Drive, Newburgh, NY.

The Executive Committee of the Watershed Protection and Partnership Council has asked the Technical Advisory Committee to review the interim Phase II Nonpoint Source TMDL Implementation Report (Report) prepared by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), and to make recommendations to DEC on how to finalize the Report.

Public Hearing

Westchester County - A public hearing of the New Rochelle City Council relative to the Proposed Final EIS on the New Roc Tower Mixed-Use Development will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 8:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 515 North Avenue, New Rochelle, New York. Negative Declaration

Orange County - The Warwick Valley Central School District, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Project #44-21-01-06-7-022-001 Bus Garage Reconstruction will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a small building (less than 10,000 square feet) to provide additional toilets in order to meet OSHA regulations and provide storage area for bus parts inventory.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Draft EIS And Public Hearing

Westchester County - The Union Free School District of the Tarrytowns Board of Education, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Additions and Alterations to Various Schools Projects. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2003 at 8:00 p.m. in the Sleepy Hollow High School Auditorium, 210 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY. Written comments will be accepted until November 7, 2003. The project scope is based on the School District's facilities' improvements needs as identified in a Master Facilities Plan adopted by the Board of Education on March 20, 2003.

The new construction work varies according to the needs of the individual school facilities, and will include classrooms and instructional spaces, media centers, administrative offices, auditorium/cafetoriums, and other educational, instructional and support spaces.

Anticipated alterations include expansion of existing educational, instructional and support spaces, exterior window and door replacement, addressing current areas of ADA non-compliance, updating or installing computer system infrastructure, and updating heating and ventilating systems, plumbing and electrical systems.

Anticipated site improvements will involve the construction of athletic playfields, playgrounds, reconfiguration of vehicular circulation, new parking spaces, and landscaping to enhance the functional, aesthetic and historic qualities of the school grounds. The school sites are listed below:

Westchester County - The Planning Board of the Town of Cortlandt, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Furnace Dock Inc. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on October 7, 2003 at 8:00 p.m. at the Vincent F. Nyberg Meeting Room at the Cortlandt Town Hall, Cortlandt Manor, NY. The action involves a proposed conventional single family residential subdivision with 24 lots, proposed roads, utilities and other proposed related site improvements on 42 acres. The project is located on the north side of Furnace Dock Road approximately 1,500 feet east of Albany Post Road.
