The applicant proposes to remove sand and gravel from a proposed 15 acre life of mine. Nine acres are proposed to be affected during the five year permit term, and includes the use of a portable screener as market demands.  The proposed project is located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Lackawanna Road and Weed Mine Road, in the Town of Copake, Columbia County.   MLF #402-3-30-0793.

The applicant proposes to operate a 4.5 acre Life of Mine bluestone mine of which the entire 4.5 acres is proposed to be disturbed during this permit term. Proposed  operations include the removal of bluestone through drilling, blasting and the mechanical cutting of stone.

Applicant is proposing to add a second floor to the existing Greenville Middle School, expand the gym and construct a new Ag/Tech Shop and bus garage on school property. Applicant proposes a combined discharge of 14,400 gallons per day of treated sanitary wastewater from two outfalls to Tributary 6 of Basic Creek  from the applicant’s facility (Greenville Central School) located on North Street, Town of Greenville, Greene County.

The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a permit for a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit under Article 17 of the Environmental Conservation Law.  This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under this statute is considered to satisfy regulatory standards for permit issuance, based on information available to the Department at this time.  As a tentative determination, the Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.  As such, this determination does not signify Department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought or for the overall proposed project.

A draft permit is available for inspection and comment at the Region 4 Office.

The applicant proposes to excavate sand and gravel from a 5.7 acre life of mine over a period of two years, and restore the area to grassland for a future home site.  As part of this project, the applicant would be required to remove existing excess tires and debris from the site prior to reclamation.   The project is located on the west side of Route 351, north of Route 43 in the town of Sand Lake, Rensselaer County.  MLF #407-3-30-0807.
