Pursuant to Title 9, Article 54 of the Environmental Conservation Law, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation hereby gives public notice of the following:

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Section 49-0305 (9) of the Environmental Conservation Law, that the State of New York acting by and through the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation intends to acquire a Conservation Easement from: Friends of the Outlet over certain lands located in Town of Torrey, Yates County, New York; and Open Space Institute over certain lands located in Town of Philipstown, Putnam County, New York; and Grasse River Heritage Area Development Corporation over certain lands located in Town of Canton, St. Lawrence County, New York; and Finger Lakes Land Trust, Inc. over certain lands located in Town of South Bristol and Town of Richmond, Ontario County, New York; and Gomez Foundation for Mill House over certain lands located in Town of Newburgh, Orange County, New York; and Appalachian Mountain Club, Inc. over certain lands located in Town of Gardiner, Ulster County, New York; and Cider Mill Friends of Open Space and Historic Preservation, Inc. over certain lands located in Town of Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York; and New York Champion Tree Project, Inc. over certain lands located in City of Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York; and Empire State Railway Museum over certain lands located in Town of Shandaken, Ulster County, New York.

Notice of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Environmental Assessment and Comment Period

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC or Commission) has prepared an environmental assessment (EA) on the underground natural gas storage project proposed by Wyckoff Gas Storage Company, LLC (Wyckoff) in the Town of Jasper in Steuben County. The proposed project, known as the Wyckoff Gas Storage Project, has been assigned FERC Docket Numbers CP03-33-000, CP03-34-000, CP03-35-000 and CP03-79-000. The EA assesses the potential environmental effects of the construction and operation of Wyckoff's proposed underground gas storage facilities and related pipeline facilities, and National Fuel Gas Supply Corporationís abandonment of existing pipeline within the project area.

The EA and related DEC permit application documents are available for review by appointment at the Division of Mineral Resourcesí office at 625 Broadway in Albany where the contact person is Kathleen Sanford (518-402-8056) and at the Region 8 Division of Environmental Permitsí office at 6274 East Avon-Lima Road in Avon where the contact person is Peter Lent (585-226-5390). The EA has also been placed in the public files of the FERC.
