The applicant proposes to
expand the total Life of Mine area of an existing sand and
gravel pit from 10 acres to 20 acres. The site, part of a 134 acre parcel owned by James
Sheehan, is located approximately 1/2 mile west of Military Turnpike and 1/4 mile south
of Holland Road, in the Town of Beekmantown, Clinton County. Mining operations will
continue over the next 10 years, with the potential to remove up to 53,000 cubic yrads of
material per year, and will include onsite crushing and screening. Concurrent reclamation
will occur as mining progresses, with final reclamation consisting of properly graded
slopes, establishment of grass cover, and natrual succession.

The applicant has proposed
to add five (5) acres to the existing 47.8-acre Life-Of-Mine
(LOM) of the Fulmont Ready Mix Co., Inc. Sand Bank to include contiguous lands to the
east of the presently permitted LOM. This acreage is proposed to be affected during the
upcoming permit term for the purposes of extracting and processing, by screening and
washing, in-situ sand and gravel deposits. The Mined Land Use Plan has been revised to
include this proposed LOM area - otherwise there are no other changes to the previously
authorized Mined land Use Plan. The site is located on the Maple Avenue Extension
approximately 0.8 mile north of its intersection with Perry Street. Application materials
are available for public review and comment at the NYS DEC Regional Sub-Office in
Warrensburg.
