The applicant proposes a
4.3 acre addition to the existing 17.7 acre Riverside Gravel Pit
(formerly known as the Yeagle Gravel Pit), to excavate 2 feet deeper on 16 acresof the
existing mine floor and to add material processing with a portable dry-screen and portable
crusher that both have a maximum capacity less than 150 tons per hour. It is also
proposed to store and process construction and demolition material consisting of
concrete, brick, rock and asphalt paving. No other changes in the mine operations and in
the mine reclamation objective (agriculture) and plan are proposed. The mine is located
on the south side of Riverside Road and north of Kiantone Creek, between New York
State Route 62 on the east and Chautauqua County Route 77 on the west, with the
expansion area between the current northeast mine boundary and Route 62.

The applicant proposes to
construct Part 2 of the Richwood Acres Subdivision (30 lots),
including sanitary sewer extension and stormwater management. Approximately 0.22
acres of low quality, wet meadow federal wetlands will be excavated/filled for the
construction of a stormwater detention basin and 2 lots. As mitigation, 0.33 acres of wet
meadow and emergent wetland habitat will be constructed within the project site. Part 2
of the Richwood Acres Subdivision is located on the east side of Fairgrounds Road,
approximately 725 feet north of Quinby Drive. Part 3 of the Richwood Acres
Subdivision (44 lots), is located on the west side of Fairgrounds Road and will also
require sanitary sewer extension, however, Part 3 will be reviewed as a separate project at
a later time.
