Oak Hill Country Club has
proposed to install a Norweco Wastewater Treatment System
for sanitary waste near the 12th hole of the west golf course. The proposed Norweco unit
will discharge through a perforated pipe to the existing storm sewer which discharges to
Allen's Creek - East Branch, a Class B waterbody, approximately 2,300 feet away. The
proposed system will discharge 500 gallons per day.
The New York State Department
of Environmental Conservation has made a tentative
determination to issue a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit under
Article 17 of the Environmental Conservation Law for this activity. As a tentative
determination, the Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior
to making a final decision on permit issuance. A draft permit is available for review at
the NYSDEC Region 8 office.

The applicant proposes to
modify the currently permitted mining operation on Texas
Hollow Road in the Town of Catharine by adding approximately 16 acres to the currently
approved 28 acre mine. The mine will continue to operate as a traditional surface
extraction of unconsolidated gravel materials. Material processing (screening) has been
previously approved for this site. Final reclamation will restore the site to agricultural
use. Reclamation will include the replacement of stockpiled topsoil and reseeding with
an approved USDA NRCS seed mixture. Application materials are available for public
review and comment at the Regional Office of NYS DEC.

The applicant proposes to
construct a culvert crossing on Catlin Mill Creek, a Class C(ts)
stream. The crossing is part of a proposed new haul road for the Wickham Sand and
Gravel Mine located on Texas Hollow Road in the Town of Catharine. The crossing will
consist of a pair of double concrete culverts having a cross sectional area of 7 ft high by
32 ft wide and that can pass the one hundred year flood event (1600 cfs) at 6.5 ft of water.
Total capacity of the culverts is calculated to be 1775 cfs. Application materials are
available for public review and comment at the Regional Office of NYS DEC.
