The applicant is proposing
to repair portions of a natural gas pipeline to address safety
concerns which require a minimum of three feet of cover to protect the pipelines which
are located east of Route 144 just south of the Normanskill in the Town of Bethlehem,
Albany County. The repair activity involves the addition of a 20 foot by 10 foot box
culvert and the construction of a small berm approximately seven feet wide and six inches
to one foot high over a length of 2400 feet ; and sixteen feet wide and two feet high over
1300 feet of pipeline.

The applicant proposes to
install 3 new production wells to replace an existing 40' deep,
10' diameter dug caisson well which was installed circa 1968. The three new wells PW-1
(60' deep), PW-2 (70' deep) and PW-3 (58' deep) will produce a total yield of
approximately 480 gallons per minute and bring the system into current compliance with
Ten State Standards. The existing well will be physically disconnected from the existing
water system. The project also includes the installation of pumps, the construction of a
water treatment building and the installation of approximately 1,000 feet of water main.
