reconstruct an existing failed dam (Dam No. 229-1508) and
dredge 2200 cubic yards of sediment from a 7-acre pond, Class B(ts), on a 151-acre
parcel. Dredge spoils will be disposed of within a 4.1-acre upland area located at the
northwestern portion of the parcel. Dam rehabilitation includes the construction of a new
drop-box structure, spillway, and outfall with plunge pool. The project is located on the
north side of Bangall-Amenia Road (County Route 86), 2000 feet west of the Layton
Road in the Town of Stanford, Dutchess County.

The Department has made
a tentative determination to approve this application to modify
a SPDES permit to increase an existing surface discharge from 110,000 gallons per day
(gpd) to 240,000 gpd of treated sanitary wastewater from the Brewster wastewater
treatment plant (WWTP) into the East Branch Croton River, Class A(t). The project
involves reconstruction of the Brewster WWTP to meet requirements of the NYC
Watershed Rules & Regulation (WR & R) and will provide wastewater treatment to areas
of the Village of Brewster previously not served by sewer. The project includes
construction of a new, four-unit Rotating Biological Contact (RBC) system with
microfiltration, equalization tank, primary and final sedimentation tanks, rapid sand
filters, and chlorination/dechlorination disinfection system. The project is located
southeast of the intersection of Park Street and Marvin Avenue in the Village of Brewster.
A draft permit is available for inspection and comment at the regional office.

a modification of the Article 15 and 401 Water Quality
Certification, issued to Mirant New York, Inc for work to support installation of a Marine
Life Exclusion System at the Lovett Generating Station, Town of Stony Point, Rockland
County. This modification will allow approximately 2000 cu yds of rock rubble to be
moved from the MLES deployment site to be disposed of in the Hudson River within the
20 ft to 30 ft bathymetric contours in the vicinity of the Lovett Station. This permit
change will maintain the in-water habitat provided by the rock rubble within close
proximity to the removal site.

selective removal of non-native plant species from within
State-designated Freshwater Wetland MV-3 (Class II) and its 100-foot adjacent area. The
site is located within Nature Study Woods County Park. Approximately 1 acre of
Japanese knotweed and porcelain berry spread throughout the wetland will be removed by
cutting, digging, and the hand application of the herbicide glyphosate. In addition, about
450 individual burning bushes will be pulled from the 100-foot adjacent area and beyond.
Native plant species will be planted where non-native vegetation is removed.
