Applicant proposes to increase the capacity of of the existing well No. 4 from 1,300 gallons per minute (gpm) to 2,400 gpm by installing a larger capacity pump at the Lawrence Road well field.The existing well is approx. 579 feet deep and is located on the west side of Lawrence Road approx. 1258 feet south of Main Street, Kings Park, Town of Smithtown

The applicant proposes to construct a second story addition and deck to the existing single family approximately 28 ft. at the closest point from the tidal wetland boundary and install a new sanitary system aproximately 27 ft. from the tidal wetland boundary. The applicant has applied for a variance from the Tidal Wetlands Development Restrictions; specificaslly, the required 75 ft. setback for structures and the 100 ft. setback for the sanitary system.  The property is located at 10 Lindner Court, Brookhaven, Town of Brookhaven, County of Suffolk on Beaver Dam Creek.

The applicant proposes a proposed discharge of 22,000 gallons per day of laundry wastewater to groundwater from an Aquarelle Generation II filtration water treatment system at the applicant’s facility located at 689 Horseblock Road, Farmingville, Brookhaven Town, Suffolk County.  The applicant plans to operate a laundromat.  The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a permit for a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit under Article 17 of the Environmental Conservation Law.  This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under this statute is considered to satisfy regulatory standards for permit issuance, based on information available to the Department at this time.  As a tentative determination, the Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.  As such, this tentative determination does not signify department approval for, or endorsement of, the activity for which a permit is sought or for the overall proposed project.  Refer to this application by application number listed above and SPDES number,  NY 0266841.  A copy of the application and draft permit are available at the Regio;n 1 Stony Brook Office.  The proposed discharge is located within an area designated as a sole source aquifer.  The following water purveyors have been identified as having service areas located within a 3-mile radius of the applicant's facility: Suffolk County Water Authority.

The Department has made a tentative decision to renew and approve a permit to discharge 9,900 gallons per day of treated wastewater to groundwater.  The wastewater is generated from washing machines associated with a laundromat and will be processed thouogh a treatment system prior to discharge.  Water is supplied in the area by Suffolk County Water Authority.  The facility is located at 272 West Main Street, Sayville, Town of Islip, Suffolk County.
