ENB Region 1 Completed Applications 07/09/2003

The applicant proposes to demolish an existing dwelling, garage, and shed, and to construct a new single family dwelling, driveway and walks.  A new sanitary system is also proposed to be installed at the site.   The proposed project is located within 100 feet of a regulated freshwater wetland at 55 Red Brook Road in the Village of Kings Point, Town of North Hempstead in Nassau County, NCTM# 01-148-52.

The applicant proposes  that three existing 4" wells be utilized as new low capacity (50 gpm)  production wells.  The wells will be approximately 100 feet deep with the capacity to pump 150 gpm.  The wells # 2, 3 and 4 are located at the Suffolk County Water Authority's Sunset Drive well field, located on the west side of Sunset Drive, 447' south of Stanley Road in Mattituck, Town of Southold.  

The applicant proposes the construction of a new 20" X 14" diameter water supply well, rated at 1,300 GPM. The well will be 200 feet deep and located at the Patchogue Yaphank Road Well Field ( Well No 3), Town of Brookhaven.

The applicant proposes a discharge of 136 gallons per day of sanitary waste from one outfall and 6,600 gallons per day of treated car wash waste water from a second outfall. The facility, DBA Medford Car Wash, is located  at 1790 Route 112, Medford, Town of Brookhaven.  The proposed discharge is located within an area designated as a sole source aquifer and the following water purveyor has been identified as having service areas located within a 3 mile radius of the applicant's facility: Suffolk County Water Authority.  The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a permit for a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit under Article 17 of the Environmental Conservation law.  This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under this statute is considered to satisfy regulator standards for permit issuance based on information available to the Department at this time.  As a tentative determination, The Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.  As such, this tentative determination does not signify department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought or for the overall proposed project.  Refer to this application by application number listed above and SPDES number NY0266752.  A copy of the application and draft permit are available at the Region I Stony Brook Office.

The applicant proposes to construct 850 linear feet by 24 ft. wide asphalt roadway beginning at the intersection of Riviera Drive and Hickory Road and proceeding south. The roadway to be paved is known as Riviera Drive and is located in Mastic Beach, Town of Brookhaven, County of Suffolk, adjacent to Pattersquash Creek.
