The applicant proposes to
conduct a flood damage prevention/habitat improvement
project along sections of Gregory Hollow Brook. Two Newbury Weirs (constructed
riffles) will be constructed utilizing approximately 44 cubic yards of stone each, and will
be built to reconfigure longitudinal roughness in 2 entrenched reaches of stream and to
reduce erosion of Gregory Hollow Road. Each weir will be approximately 36 feet in
length. The project is located on Gregory Hollow Road upstream of the Bull Run Road
intersection.

The applicant proposes to
conduct a floodplain restoration project along the Schoharie
Creek. The project consists of removal of 2,200 feet of constructed earthen berm along
the bank of the Schoharie Creek (partially within the adjacent area of freshwater wetland
P- 3) to restore the natural flood plain function and to reduce flooding in the hamlet of
Prattsville. The berm will be regraded to match the existing flood plain elevation and the
exposed area seeded. The project is located on the west bank of the Schoharie Creek
between the State Route 23 bridge at Prattsville and the Schoharie Reservoir.
