ENB Region 4 Completed Applications 06/18/2003

The applicant proposes the construction of a 32,572 square foot office building and associated parking. The construction will involve the disturbance of approximately 0.11 acre of New York State Freshwater Wetland (N-3) Adjacent Area for the construction of the building and an additional 0.04 acres of Adjacent Area impact to install the stormwater discharge system.

The applicant proposes to improve an existing wood road through freshwater wetland CL-20 by installing clean gravel to construct a driveway 12 feet wide and 850 feet long to access a proposed home site.  The project also involves the subdivision of lands for ten separate parcels, which will not impact the wetlands or adjacent areas.  The project is located on Route 9, 1/2 mile north of Pleasant Vale Road in the town of Clermont, Columbia County.

The applicant proposes to expand an existing surface consolidated bluestone mine from 6.5 acres to 22.4 acres.  Mining operations to extract bluestone will include drilling, blasting, mechanical equipment use.  A portable crusher and small protable screen will be used occasionally.  The site will be reclaimed to its previous use for forestry and a logging yard.  The site is located off Columbia Lake Road, near the interesection with State Routes 8 and 10.

The applicant proposes to construct four potholes within freshwater wetland CP-25 under the USDA Wetland Reserve Program.  The potholes will be approximately 0.25 acres in size with a depth of 1.5 feet to 2 feet and will be interconnected by level ditches.  The purpose of the restoration is to enhance the hydrology of the site and increase habitat diversity.  The project is located on the east side of State Highway 166 just north of the Cornish Hill Road intersection.

The applicant proposes to develop an additional source of water supply to be used as a primary source to service the Village of Morris.  The new source will be a 6 inch diameter well located at the end of Meadow Lane and will be devloped into a permanent production well to be used in conjunction with the existing spring source. The project will involve the taking of up to 100 gallons of water per minute from the new well.  The site is located off Meadow Lane southeast of the Village of Morris.

The applicant proposes to construct a single family residence and floating dock on the island in Mariaville Lake.  The house, garage,driveways, utilities and appurtenances will affect approximately 12,971 square feet of the adjacent area of freshwater wetland RJ-3 (Mariaville Lake).  A temporary holding tank will be used for a septic system until a municipal system is constructed.
