Nassau County - The Town of North Hempstead Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Change of Zone for Residential Development - Glen Harbor Partners, LLC may have a significant adverse environmental impact and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on June 12, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, 220 Plandome Rd., Manhasset, N.Y. 11030. The action involves a change of zone of 5.24 acres situated on the east and west sides of Shore Road in Glenwood Landing, Town of North Hempstead from Industrial B to Multiple Residence. The project is located on the east and west side of Shore Rd., Glenwood Landing, Town of North Hempstead.

Suffolk County - The New York State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed State Park Access and Library-Environmental Center Cold Spring Harbor State Park may have a significant adverse environmental impact and a Draft EIS has been prepared and has been accepted. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on June 11, 2003 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Cold Spring Harbor High School Auditorium, 82 Turkey Lane, Cold Spring Harbor. Persons may provide oral comments at the hearing or submit written comments no later than the end of the comment period June 30, 2003. The action involves the construction of a Library-Environmental Center and improvements to park access and interpretation near the northwest corner of Cold Spring Harbor State Park. The project is located in Cold Spring Harbor State Park, Cold Spring Harbor.

Suffolk County - The Town of Southampton Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Revised Draft Critical Wildlands and Groundwater Protection Plan. A public hearing on the Draft Generic EIS will be held on June 24, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, NY 11968. The action involves the objective of the Critical Wildlands and Groundwater Protection Plan is to guide environmental and land use management in the area east of Shinnecock Canal with respect to the overall protection of the publicís health, safety and welfare, local community character, and quality of life. This plan has identified approximately 11,360 acres to be protected through a number of techniques, including land acquisition, conservation easements, further clearing restrictions and an expansion of the Town of Southamptonís existing transfer development rights program.
