Public Hearing

Suffolk County - A Public Hearing will be held by The Town Board of the Town of Southampton June 10, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, New York to hear any and all persons either for or against A Local Law amending Chapter 330-5 defining Heritage Resource Areas and Article XXVIII (Landmarks and Historic Districts), Section 330-320 (Landmarks and Historic Districts Board) of the Code of the Town of Southampton and create new Sections 330-331 and 330-332 regarding Heritage Resource Areas.

Copies of the proposed law, are on file in the Town Clerk's Office, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The South Huntington Water District, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed New Plant No. 19 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves two (2) new 1,380 gpm potable water supply wells to create additional capacity, new 1.5 MG concrete ground storage tank and booster plant, chemical feed systems, buildings and emergency back-up power. The project is located at Mount Misery Road/South Huntington Water District.

Suffolk County - The South Huntington Water District, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed New Water Supply Well No. 18-2 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves new 1,380 gpm potable water supply Well No. 18-2 which will create additional system capacity. The project will also include miscellaneous improvements to the site as well as chemical feed systems and standby power generator. The project is located at Cottontail Road/South Huntington Water District.

Positive Declaration and Public Scoping Session

Nassau County - The Town of North Hempstead Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Change of Zone for Residential Development - Glen Harbor Partners, LLC may have a significant adverse environmental impact and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on June 12, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, 220 Plandome Rd., Manhasset, N.Y. 11030. The action involves a change of zone of 5.24 acres situated on the east and west sides of Shore Road in Glenwood Landing, Town of North Hempstead from Industrial B to Multiple Residence. The project is located on the east and west side of Shore Rd., Glenwood Landing, Town of North Hempstead.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Nassau County - The Board of Appeals of the Incorporated Village of Great Neck Estates, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Young Isreal of Great Neck expansion. The action involves demolition of a 2,942 square foot building located at 234 Middle Neck Road which is one of the two, existing, attached buildings presently used as a synagogue. A 23,802 square foot addition is proposed to the existing building at 236 Middle Neck Road, and the total building area will be increased to 39,495 square feet upon completion of the project. In order to implement the proposed action, the applicant must secure approval to permit the expansion, alteration and enlargement of a non-conforming use; approval to amend previously imposed conditions; and approval of several area variances. The project is located at the Village of Great Neck Estates, 4 Atwater Plaza, Great Neck, New York.
