Applicant proposes to construct 4 single family dwellings with associated driveways, construct an extension of an existing roadway for access to proposed dwellings, and install a 1,942 cubic foot recharge basin. Project is proposed within 10 feet of NYSDEC regulated freshwater wetland A-8. Project is located  south of  the intersection of Lake and Frank St., Lindenhurst.

The applicant proposes an existing discharge of 14,000 gallons per day of laundry wastewater to groundwater from an Aquarelle Generation III filtration water treatment system at the applicant’s facility located at 1889 Brentwood Rd., Brentwood, Islip Town, Suffolk County.   The applicant plans to operate a laundromat.

The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a permit for a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit under Article 17 of the Environmental Conservation Law.  This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under this statute is considered to satisfy regulatory standards for permit issuance, based on information available to the Department at this time.  As a tentative determination, the Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.  As such, this tentative determination does not signify department approval for, or endorsement of, the activity for which a permit is sought or for the overall proposed project.

Refer to this application by application number listed above and SPDES number,  NY 0266779.  The proposed discharge is located within an area designated as a sole source aquifer.  The following water purveyor has been identified as having service areas located within a 3-mile radius of the applicant's facility: Suffolk County Water Authority.

The applicant proposes to subdivide a 2.7 acre parcel located in the Nissequogue Recreational River Area into two lots.  Lot 1 will be approximately 1.2 acres and will be developed with a single family dwelling with septic system and driveway.  Lot 2 will be approximately 1.5 acres and will contain an existing single family dwelling with septic system and driveway.  The proposal requires variance relief from the two acre minimum lot size requirements of the Regulation for Administration & Management of the Wild, Scenic and Recreational Rivers System in New York State (6NYCRR Part 666).  The site is located on the south side of Meadow Road, approximately 200 feet west of Dillmont Drive, Smithtown, Town of Smithtown, Suffolk County, SCTM# 0800-72-14.1 & 16.4.
