The Town of Penfield has
proposed to construct approximately 345 lineal feet of heavy
stone armor along two bank sections of Irondequoit Creek to control bank erosion in
order to prevent water quality degradation. Section I lies within Linear park, on the
opposite bank just downstream from the existing armored area, and includes a proposed
120 lineal foot pyramidal stone wall structure varying from 2' to 5' above bed grade.
Work in Section I also includes a re-orientation of existing Bendway weirs on the existing
armored bank, and the placement of one additional Bendway weir. Section II is located
immediately upstream from the NYS Route 441 bridge, and includes a proposed ~225
lineal foot pyramidal stone structure of 11' minimum height above bed grade along the
west bank, and four Benway weirs to redirect flow. The application materials are
available for public review and comment at the NYS DEC Regional Headquarters.

The applicant proposes to
develop and operate an 18.2 acre surface sand and gravel mine
within a 39 acre parcel in the Town of Macedon. The project site is the applicant’s
property located north of Macedon Center Road at the intersection of Daansen Road. The
mine is intended to operate as a traditional surface extraction of sand and gravel using
mechanical equipment standard for sand and gravel mining operations. Mining is
proposed to remove approximately 1.5 million cubic yards of aggregate sand and gravel
over the five year operational life of the mine. Material will be processed with a portable
screen and crusher (dry operation) at a maximum rate that will not exceed 70 TPH. Final
reclamation will restore the site to agricultural use. The reviewed life-of-mine area is
18.2 acres. Application materials are available for public review and comment at the
Regional Office of NYS DEC.

The Town of Jerusalem proposes
to extend the water supply and distribution system of
the district into its Extension #3 and to take for use therein a supply of water estimated to
average 81,000 gallons per day from the Village of Penn Yan's Keuka Lake source. The
project includes the installation of 59,150 linear feet of water main and appurtenances, to
serve 287 existing residential units and 93 equivalent commercial units along Italy
Valley, Stever, Sid White, Crescent Beach, Guyanoga, and East Valley Roads, Esperanza
Drive, Keuka Lake State Park, and Route 54A. The project will utilize existing tanks
and piping in Keuka Lake State Park. The project will include boring under NYS
regulated freshwater wetland PU-1 in three locations. The file is available for review and
comment at NYSDEC Region 8.
