The Town of Webb proposes to operate a sand and gravel mining operation on a 51 acre parcel owned by International Paper Company.  The life of mine boundary will be 4.0 acres, with 4.0 acres affected during the 5-year permit term.  The operation will include on-site processing of mining products (screening and crushing).  The project is located north of and immediately adjacent to the Big Moose Road, approximately 3 miles west of Big Moose Station in the Town of Webb, Herkimer County.    

The applicant proposes to construct a 24' x 46' pole bard for private storage use.  The site is within 50' of regulated freshwater wetland S-5, a 308 acres Class II wetland, predominantly open water wetland in vicinity of project site.  The site is located approximately 1.25 miles west of the hamlet of Sulphur Springs south of County Route 62, 2000' west of Eveleigh Road.

The applicant proposes to renew a mining permit for a 213 acre limestone quarry located approximately .75 miles south of the Village of Norfolk off NYS Route 56, on a 306.8 acre parcel controlled by the applicant.  In addition, the applicant has submitted an updated mining plan, which shows through improved surveying methodology, an actual affected area of 240.6 acres, or 27.6 acres more than previously permitted.  The applicant is requesting ratification of the new plan.
