ENB Region 1 Completed Applications 05/07/2003

Applicant proposes to subdivide 19 acre parcel adjacent to Port Jefferson Harbor into 10 lots to be developed with single family dwellings and access road. Project is located on Camp Woodbine Road, V - Belle Terre.

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve an application for a permit to discharge 5350 gallons per day of (car wash) process wastewater and sanitary wastewater into groundwater from two outfalls.  The facility is located at 100 Route 25A, East Setauket, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County (SPDES # NY0266558).  The proposed discharge is located within an area designated as a sole source aquifer.  The Suffolk County Water Authority is the only identified water purveyor as having a service area located within a three-mile radius of the applicant's facility.  A copy of the draft permit is available for review in the Region 1 Stony Brook office.  

The applicant proposes to modify an existing permit to reconstruct 848 feet of bulkhead at Cow Harbor Park.  The modification includes the eliminating the reconstruction of 221 feet of bulkhead comprising three walls of a boat basin, and instead constructing 38' of new bulkhead to close off the boat basin.  Eighteen hundred and fifty cubic yards of fill will be placed within the boat basin, resulting in the loss of approximately 4,177 square feet of tidal wetlands known as littoral zone (SM/LZ).  An existing 24 inch outfall pipe would be lengthened to extend past the new bulkhead.  The project is at Cow Harbor Park, west side of Woodbine Avenue by Main Street, Northport, Town of Huntington, Suffolk County.  

Applicant proposes to remove and replace, in place, 69 linear feet of existing bulkhead and 10 linear feet of bulkhead return, 2' higher. Applicant additionally proposes to construct  6' of new bulkhead return and 47 linear feet of new bulkhead, 17 linear feet of which will be below mean high water. Project will require 35 cubic yards of backfill. Project is located on Millstone Lane, Southampton.
