Monroe County - The City of Rochester Director of Zoning, as lead agency has determined that the proposed Hillside Children's Center Master Plan will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of cottage additions totalling 13,654 sq. ft. of habitable area, improvements to existing entrance and new driveway, and a new "Village Green" along with renovations to existing cottages. The project is located at 1183 Monroe Avenue, City of Rochester.

Steuben County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Smith Gravel Mine. A public hearing will be held on May 14, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the Campbell Town Hall on Main Street, Campbell, New York. The action involves the development of a 134.5 acre sand and gravel mine on a 244.6 acre parcel. The mine will operate as a traditional surface excavation of sand and gravel by mechanical equipment including mining below the water table using a dragline. The excavated material will be washed, screened and crushed. Final reclamation will restore the site to open water recreational ponds. The project site is bounded on the south by Curtis Hollow Road, the east and north by the Cohocton River, and on the west by I-86. The site is located in the Town of Campbell.
