The Department has made
a tentative determination to approve this application for
modification of an existing permit for a total of approximately 179,800 gallons per day of
treated sanitary wastewater from 58 discharge points (some combined) to groundwater
and the Genesee River. The outfalls are from various treatment systems throughout
Letchworth State Park in Wyoming and Livingston Counties, the Towns of Castile,
Genesee Falls, Leicester, Mount Morris and Portage. A draft permit is available for
review. Proposed modifications to the permit are the result of system reconstruction,
changes in public use and design standards and the combination of formerly separate
outfalls.
