      The Town of Fishkill has applied for a Water Supply permit (WSA #10,341) to allow the Town's Polo Field Water District to take a supply of water from the adjacent City of Beacon water supply system in order to provide water service to 8 single-family residences, 1 volunteer fire house and 88 townhouses within the 85-acre Water District. The Town estimates an average daily demand at 39,000 gallons per day and fire flows of approximately 1000 gallons per minute. The Water District is located adjacent to the southern boundary of the City of Beacon, off NYS Rt 9D, between Slocum Road (a.k.a. Craig House Road) and the Hudson River, in the Town of Fishkill, Dutchess County,. NY

      Before the end of the public comment period, the permit application documents can be viewed in NYS DEC office in New Paltz, by calling the contact person listed at the end of this Notice as soon as possible before the last comment date.

The applicant proposes to draw-down Orange Lake by approximately 2 feet during September - October of 2003, affecting wetlands #NB-21 and NB-32 along the Lake's perimeter.  The purpose is to facilitate repair of walls and bulkheads.  The location is on the north side of Route 52 east of Rock Cut Road.

The applicant proposes to construct portions of two detention basins and associated stormwater outfalls within the 100-foot adjacent area of State-designated Freshwater Wetland Nos. BR-11 (Class II) and BR-16 (Class III).  The basins are part of the proposed Brewster Manor Subdivision, which is a 9-lot subdivision of a 90 acre parcel of land located on the north site of NYS Rte. 312, about 1 mile west of the intersection with NYS Rte. 22.  About 0.85 acre of Wetland BR-11 and 0.66 acre of Wetland BR-16 will be affected by clearing and grading.
