This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

The applicant receives bulk quantities of pharmaceutical ingredients that are mixed or combined and packaged for individual consumer use. After a run of product has been completed, certain clean-up protocols that generate wastewater are undertaken. the permittee has requested that it be authorized to discharge the wastewater generated from the batch and product runs associated with biosyn savvy gel, trecator, paroxetine mesylate and others (substances for which ambient water quality criteria do not exist). The Department has made a tentative determination to approve the permittee's request subject to requirements to establish in both acute and chronic effluent toxicity monitoring programs.
