The applicant proposes to replace the existing single-span, steel, multi-girder Day Hollow Road bridge over Little Nanticoke Creek with a single-span, prestressed concrete box beam superstructure with integral abutments on piles. A new stream realignment will be created to conform to the stream approaches, which will prevent erosion and scour problems that currently exist at the bridge. Approximately 430 feet of the east and west banks of Little Nanticoke Creek will be stabilized.
