The applicant proposes to
remove and replace within 18 inches 365 linear feet of
deteriorated bulkhead, remove and replace existing rip-rap to allow for bulkhead
installation, and construct 60 linear feet of new bulkhead and an 11.25-foot bulkhead
return. All bulkheads will be backfilled with clean sand and an eroded area seaward of
the existing bulkhead will be filled with 60 cubic yards of clean sand and 25 cubic yards
of new rip-rap. A pier for public access and fishing is proposed on the southern end of
the site and consists of an 8-foot by 40-foot straight section leading to a 25-foot by 25-foot octagonal
section with a gazebo on top. The project is located at Seamans Neck
Park, South Seamans Neck Road, Seaford, Hempstead Town, Nassau County.
