| Project is Located: | Islip, Suffolk County |
| Project Description: | |

The applicant proposes to
remove rip-rap and underlying concrete and asphalt along 200
linear feet of shoreline. This work would be done both by hand and by means of a
mechanical excavator. The affected area would include sections seaward of average high
water. The material would be taken to an upland site for disposal. It is also proposed to
install stone on filter fabric along the southern section of shoreline and to plant stands of
Spartina alterniflora running northward to the property line. Approximately 15 cubic
yards of clean sand would be placed in area measuring 600 square feet to create a beach.
In addition to the work
described above, an existing dock would be extended by 20 feet to
create a structure 68 feet long and a boat lift would be installed parallel to the length of
the dock at its seaward end. All existing structures landward of average high water would
be demolished and a new single family dwelling, including accessory structures, would be
constructed.
