Suffolk County - Please take notice that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Southampton on March 25, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, NY, to hear any and all persons either for or against "A Local Law creating a new Chapter 309 (Bridgehampton Hamlet Moratorium) of the Code of the Town of Southampton. This moratorium will affect certain properties that are zoned residential, commercial and industrial within the Hamlet of Bridgehampton, within the Town of Southampton."
Copies of the proposed local law, are on file in the Town Clerk's Office, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Suffolk County - The Town of Brookhaven Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Stony Brook Post Office Expansion and Educational and Cultural Center may have a significant adverse environmental impact and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the construction of an 11,361 sq. ft. addition to the east of the post office building. The new fenced postal complex includes loading bays and access for the mail delivery trucks

Suffolk County - The Town of Islip Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center may have a significant adverse environmental impact and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A scoping meeting will be held on April 3, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. at the town of Islip Town Hall, 655 Main Street, Islip, NY. The action involves the construction of an approximately 10,700 sq. ft., one-story addition to the southeast portion of the hospital building, to accommodate the relocation of the emergency room facility thereto. The action also consists of the construction of an approximately 130 sq. ft., one-story vestibule adjacent to the corridor between the proposed relocated emergency room and the M.R.I. Center and construction of an approximately 260 sq. ft., one-story addition adjacent to the corridor between the proposed relocated emergency room facility and the remainder of the hospital building. The project is located at the Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center at 1000 Montauk Highway, West Islip, Town of Islip.

Suffolk County - The Smithtown Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Hamlet at St. James No. 1013. The action involves the subdivision approval to construct 167 single-family homes, each lot at least 12,481 acres to be preserved and operated under the control of a Homeowners Association, with other miscellaneous facilities, to be located on a presently vacant 108.44 acre parcel zoned R-21 CL and B-1 (Town of Brookhaven). The project is located on the northwest corner of NYS Route 347 and Moriches Road, St. James, Town of Smithtown.
