The applicant proposes to
develop and operate a 4.55 acre surface borrow pit on Kahler
Road in the Town of Big Flats, Chemung County. The mine is located on lands owned
by Chemung County and the mining site is dedicated to the NYS DOT construction
project for the Kahler Road and I-86 interchange. The reviewed life-of-mine area for this
mine is 4.55 acres. Reclamation will restore the site to pre-mining conditions and use, no
further development is planned. Application materials are available for public review and
comments at the Regional Office of NYS DEC.

The applicant proposes to
develop a private luxury resort on approximately 3.87 acres of
property at 279 Lake Rd. in the Town of Webster. It is located on two parcels, north and
south of Lake Rd., between Irondequoit Bay and Lake Ontario. The project will involve
the construction of an 82 unit hotel with luxury amenities in six small buildings, an 84
slip marina on Irondequoit Bay, and a 42 seat restaurant and parking for 180 vehicles.
Hotel facilities will be split between one 10,000 square foot two story building on the
parcel south of Lake Rd. and five 3,600 square foot two story buildings on the north side
of Lake Rd. Public access to Lake Ontario and Irondequoit Bay is proposed with public
docks and picnic areas available for public use. The Draft Envrionmental Impact
Statement (DEIS) has been accepted for public review by the Department and is available
during business hours at the following locations: Region 8 NYSDEC Office at 6274 E.
Avon-Lima Rd. in the Town of Avon, the Town of Webster Town Hall, 1100 Ridge Rd.,
and the Webster Public Library, 980 Ridge Rd. where a repository of the permit
application file has been established.
