Project Description:
The applicant proposes to construct and operate a temporary dewatering system to facilitate the construction of structures for Shaft 20B - City Water Tunnel #3. Approximately 2 million gallons per day of ground water will be discharged to an existing combined sewer on White Street which leads to the Newtown Creek Sewage Treatment Plant. The project site is located in the area of Seigel Street, White Street and McKibbin Street, Brooklyn.

Project Description:
The applicant proposes to stabilize 1265 feet of eroding shoreline at the location of two former barge unloading facilities. The proposed work includes debris removal, excavation to achieve stable foundations, and the placement of materials for stabilizing purposes. Up to 900 cubic yards of a combination of riprap and gabion will be placed in the intertidal area for stabilization. Approximately 1740 square feet of intertidal zone, including 310 square feet of vegetated wetland, will be permanently impacted from the proposed placement of fill material. Salt marsh cordgrass, groundsel bush, and marsh elder from impacted areas will be transplanted to suitable areas at the landfill. Additional intertidal areas will be established to mitigate for permanent impacts. The project site is located on the Fresh Kills Main Creek at the Fresh Kills Landfill, Staten Island.

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was performed.
