wetland designated BE-1. The purpose is to install a retention basin to capture
stormwater runoff from a proposed residential development. The activity would be
conducted on land owned by the Town of Islip on a cleared but unpaved right-of-way
otherwise known as Armstrong Avenue. Written approval from the Town of Islip to
allow the developers to do this work has been submitted. The affected area was cleared at
an unknown time in the past.

hydraulically dredge 30,000 cubic yards of sand from the
nearshore to the west of the northern end of Shinnecock Canal to a maximum depth of 6
ft. below mean low water. The dredged material will be pumped along the beach on the
east side of the Canal and used to restore the eroded beach adjacent to Meschutt Beach
County Park. The dredge area is located west of the northern end of the Shinnecock
Canal, and the deposition site is located east of the northern end of Shinnecock Canal at
Meschutt Beach, Peconic Beach Road, Hampton Bays, Town of Southampton, County of
Suffolk on Great Peconic Bay.
