Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed State University of New York, University at Stony Brook Apartment Housing Phase II Project and STAR Center in Biomolecular Diagnostics and Therapeutics Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a student apartment complex of approximately 220,000 gross square feet including four, three-story apartment buildings, approximately 660-670 beds and accessory parking space for approximately 520 vehicles; and, the construction of a new 5-story, approximately 55,000 gross-square-foot, 75-foot high medical biotechnology research center with a footprint of approximately 11,050 square feet. The projects would take place on the west campus of the University at Stony Brook, located in the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, New York. The west campus is bounded by Nicolls Road (Suffolk County Route 97) on the east, Stony Brook Road to the west, the Port Jefferson branch of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) / Route 25A on the north, and South Drive and Oxhead Road to the south. The site of the proposed Apartment Housing Phase II Project is an approximately 11-acre parcel of land located just west of the Schomburg Apartments and the recently constructed Undergraduate Apartments. The site of the proposed STAR Center is a vacant parcel located east of Lake Drive, north and west of South Loop Road. The parcel is bounded on the east and north by the Life Sciences complex, to the south and west by Lake Drive.

Suffolk County - The Town of Riverhead Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Site Plan of John Wesley Village (Phase III) will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of 92 units of senior citizen housing together with related site improvements on 16.2 acres of land zoned Residence RC. The project is located on the north side of Middle Road approximately 800 ft. east of Roanoke Avenue, Riverhead.

Public Hearing

Suffolk County - Take Notice, a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Southampton on February 11, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, New York, to hear any and all persons either for or against "A Local Law amending Chapter 308 (Riverside, Flanders and Northampton Hamlet Moratorium) of the Southampton Town Code. This moratorium will affect certain properties that are zoned commercial, residential and industrial within the boundaries of the Riverside, Flanders and Northampton, Hamlets situate in the Town of Southampton."
