Village of Freeport The Village of Freeport has applied for an air pollution control permit pursuant to Article 19 of the Environmental Conservation Law ("ECL") and Part 201 of Title 6 of the New York Compilation of Codes, Rules and Regulations ("6NYCRR")

A legislative hearing for the receipt of public comments on the application will be held, beginning at 7:00 on March 12, 2003 at the following location:Freeport High School, 50 South Brookside Avenue Freeport, New York

Village of Freeport The Department initiated a modification of the Title V permit in July 2001. A combined notice of public comment period, draft permit and legislative hearing appeared in the Environmental Notice Bulletin on August 6, 2001 and Newsday on August 1, 2001. A legislative hearing was held on October 22, 2001.

A legislative hearing session to receive unsworn statements from the public on the applications and the draft permits, described above, will be held before Administrative Law Judge on March 12, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at: Freeport High School, 50 South Brookside Avenue, Freeport, New York

Calpine Stony Brook Energy Center 2, Inc., Calpine Stony Brook Energy Center 2, Inc. The Applicant proposes to construct and operate a 79.9 MW electric generating station (the project) adjacent to the existing Nissequogue Cogen Partners (NCP) cogeneration facility located on the SUNY campus.

A legislative hearing session for the receipt of public comments, on the application will be held at 7:00PM on March 10, 2003. Written comments must be postmarked no later than March 8, 2003, or provided in-hand to the Administrative Law Judge presiding at the hearing on March 10, 2003.

The public comment period on the draft PSD permit will run from the date of publication of this public notice until March 8, 2003. Comments must be postmarked no later than March 8, 2003. Written comments about DEC Staff's tentative PSD determination must be filed with the DEC project manager at the address provided below.
