The Town of Brighton has
applied for a 360 Solid Waste Management Facility Permit for
the town compost facility located at 444 Browncroft Boulevard, next to the C&D disposal
site in the Town of Brighton. The facility has been operating since around 1997, however,
it recently began operations which trigger regulatory jurisdiction under Part 360. The
facility, which is approximately 4 acres in size, proposes to handle approximately 27,000
cubic yards of yard waste from the town of Brighton. The facility is located on top of a
former town landfill. Storm water will be diverted from the compost to prevent runoff to
the landfill or offsite. The permit application and SEQR documentation are available for
review and comment at the regional office.

to create the Moscow Road Water District to take for use
therein a supply of water estimated to average 9,600 gallons per day from the Monroe
County Water Authority's Lake Ontario source in Brockport. The project includes the
installation of 10,000 linear feet of 8-inch water main and appurtenances to serve 32
parcels along Moscow Road. The project will also require the crossing of 5 protected
streams by using open trench method and erosion control measures. The file is available

The applicant proposes to
construct an 18 hole golf course located 4000 feet east of
Middle Road, 3500 feet south of Lehigh Station Road . Access to lands on both sides of
the NYS Thruway will be via use of an abandoned railroad bed. The golf course will be
irrigated by using water from State regulated wetland HR-20 . The NYSDEC assessment
of the proposed water take from the wetland shows that the wetland will not be adversely
affected. The permit will require monitoring and implementation of a contigency plan for
water use. Measures have already been implemented to protect the cultural resource
homestead known as the Clark B site. It is the intent of the NYSDEC to issue a 401
Water Quality Certification to enable the US Army Corp of Engineers to issue a 404
permit.

The applicant operates and
existing solid waste landfill located south of Perinton
Parkway , north of the Erie Canal and west of the Monroe-Wayne County line, and has
submitted a new application for a 59 acre landfill. The expansion is known as the
Parkway Expansion Phase 2 and will partly overlie 15.5 acres of a closed landfill, 43.5
acres of new ground , and 7 acres of the former Adams waste disposal area. At the
present waste flow rate of 3500 tons per day the new expansion will have a site life of
eight to nine years. The new site upon completion will be 29 feet higher than the closed
landfill. The available air space from the ne landfill will be 11 million cubic yards. A
supplemental draft Environmental Impact Statement and application is available for
review at the NYSDEC Avon office and the Town of Perinton Town Hall at 1350 Turk
Hill Road.
