Project Description:
The applicant proposes to demolish an existing house and construct two one-family semi-detached houses partially within the adjacent area of NYSDEC regulated Class I Freshwater Wetland NA-9 (Dongan Hills). The wetland is located on the opposite side of an existing street from the project site which is located at # 12 and # 14 Mapleton Avenue between Freeborn and Grimsby Streets, Staten Island Block 3799, Lots 42 and 44.

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
A Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form has been completed. The proposed activity will not impact on registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.
Coastal Management:
This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment:
Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Feb 14 2003.

The applicant proposes to improve Patterson Avenue between Liberty and Seaview Avenues including curbs, roadway and utilities. The street improvements are within the adjacent area of NYSDEC regulated Class I Freshwater Wetland NA-9 (Dongan Hills). The purpose of the proposed street improvements is to access Block 3478 - Lots 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 9 for construction of 8 semi-attached one -family houses. The proposed houses are not within NYSDEC regulated freshwater wetlands or freshwater wetlands adjacent area.
