Project Description:
The applicant proposes to
construct a 100' x 1200' spring-fed, deep water pond in the
adjacent area of NYS DEC regulated Freshwater Wetland (FWW) SA-29 (Class II), with
five shallow water "fingers" which extend into the FWW proper. All spoil will be spread
evenly in an upland field. The project will diversify the immediate wetland habitat,
currently hay field and wet meadow, by providing an open water area, and irregularly-shaped shallow
water/emergent areas which will benefit waterfowl, furbearers and other
wildlife. Application materials are available for public review and comment at the NYS
DEC Regional Headquarters.

Project Description:
The Village of Bergen proposes
to construct a 5.31 mile 34.5 kV overhead transmission
line along West Sweden Road in the Towns of Sweden (Monroe County) and Bergen
(Genesee County). A new substation facility and regulator station will also be constructed
along the route. Pole placement will occur within the Co. Rd. 240 right-of-way and an
existing 115 kV line. The following wetlands or adjacent area will be involved: BY-11(I),
BP-1(III),
SW-12(III), HO-9(II), and
SW-7(II). Maintenance plan will be physical pruning.
Villages's SEQR determination included required inspections for Eastern Massasauga
rattlesnake. This project was previously reviewed, permitted, but only one mile of the
line was constructed. The current project reroutes approximately 0.7 mile of the line to
reduce project costs and avoid obstructions.
