|
Project Description:
The
Meadows at Cross River Condos has applied for a Freshwater Wetlands
permit to construct a new 45-foot by 45-foot building within the 100-foot wide adjacent
area of Freshwater Wetland "L-36" (Class I) to house tertiary filtration equipment for a
mandated upgrade in the treatment process at the Condos' existing wastewater treatment
plant. The building and associated stormwater and driveway construction would disturb
0.49 acres of wetland adjacent area. Due to the small size of the site (1.524 acres) and the
need to maximize the separation distance from several adjacent occupied condominiums,
the applicant has sited this building within 60 feet of the boundary of the freshwater
wetland itself. However, this is farther away from the wetland proper than the existing
treatment plant building. The applicant proposes to mitigate a this disturbance to the
freshwater wetland adjacent area by new plantings of wetland vegetation in the wetland
adjacent area on the site.
The
existing and proposed treatment plant buildings are both located just west of
Jay Court, north of the Condos' recreation facility in the Cross River section of the Town
of Lewisboro, in Westchester County.
