Positive Declaration

Albany County - The Planning Board of the Town of Bethlehem, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Waste Management Operations Facility/Site Plan Application may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The proposed action, known as the Waste Management Operations Facility, involves an application for Site Plan Approval in a Rural District unzoned. The proposal is to construct (1) a 30,240± square foot building containing a two-story office and one-story vehicle maintenance facility, (2) a 5,000 square foot container maintenance building, (3) a fuel island, (4) container storage area, and (5) parking for 195 cars and 77 trucks. Development would occur within the northernmost 25± acres of the 148.8± acre site. The project is located on the east side of River Road (N.Y.S. Route 144) opposite Exit 22 of the N.Y.S. Thruway, Town of Bethlehem, Albany County, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Albany County - The New York State Office of General Services, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Redevelopment Strategy for the Harriman State Office Campus. The proposed action is the Redevelopment Strategy for the Harriman State Office Campus (“Campus”) located in the City of Albany, Albany County, New York. OGS retained Hamilton, Rabinovitz & Alschuler, Inc. (“HR &A”) to assess the best future use of the campus and recommend a redevelopment strategy to ensure the full potential of the site, including economic development opportunities. The preferred strategy recommended by HR&A in their report, “Redevelopment Strategy for the Harriman State Office Campus,” issued April 2002, is the Harriman Research and Technology Campus to be developed over a ten to twenty-year period. The preferred strategy is flexible and primarily involves redeveloping the Campus for office space, research and development, technology, and limited retail. The redevelopment strategy would be a collaborative effort between the OGS, the University at Albany (“UAlbany”) and the Empire State Development Corporation (“ESDC”). The project is located at the site of the existing Harriman State Office Campus in the City of Albany, between Washington Avenue to the NE, Western Avenue to the SW, Brevator Street to the SE, and the University at Albany to the NW.
