Public Hearing

Dutchess County - The Planning Board of the Town of East Fishkill, as lead agency, will hold a public hearing on December 11, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, 330 Route 376, Hopewell Junction, New York, to accept comments on the Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement listed below.

Dutchess County - The Planning Board of East Fishkill, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Meadow Creek Corporate Park. Written comments on the Draft Generic EIS will be accepted until January 11, 2002. The action involves the construction of a 1.27 million square foot development (gross floor space) consisting of professional office space, research and development uses, and a convenience mart/gasoline station on a 151-acre site zoned PCP and I-1, in the Town of East Fishkill. The project concept plan proposes 3 full access drives, a right turn in/right turn out only driveway, as well as three emergency access drives. The project also proposes the construction of a sewage treatment plant and a water storage tank on-site. The project is bounded by Interstate 84(I-84) Exit 15 to the south, Lime Kiln Road to the west and north, and Shenandoah Road to the east in East Fishkill, Dutchess County, NY.


Positive Declaration And Public Scoping

Orange County - The Planning Board of the Town of Wallkill, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Golden Triangle may have a significant adverse impact on the environmental and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. Written comments on the draft scope will be accepted until January 15, 2003. A public scoping session will be held on January 8, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, 600 Route 211 East, Middletown, New York. The action involves the application for Subdivision and Special Use Permit approval to develop a mixed use cluster development on approximately 92 acres of undeveloped land, in accordance with the 5/25/89 cluster authorization. Site Plan approval to develop 90 townhome residences on approximately 18.9 acres is proposed as Phase 1. Future phase(s) would potentially include approximately 350,000 to 500,000 sf of a combination of retail, hotel, office, and restaurant uses. Appurtenant parking, infrastructure (municipal water and sewer), stormwater management facilities, wetland mitigation and landscaping would be incorporated into the plans for each phase. The project is located south of Silver Lake Scotchtown Road, west of NYS Route 17 and north of NYS Route 211, in the Town of Wallkill, Orange County, New York.

Positive Declaration

Orange County The Planning Board of the Town of New Windsor, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Stewart Army Subpost (STAS) Redevelopment Plan may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves a redevelopment of the former STAS, a 248+/- acre parcel in the Town of New Windsor. The STAS lands have been ground-leased by the Town of New Windsor for the purposes of economic development. The redevelopment plan contemplates redevelopment in multiple phases to establish a broad range of commercial, industrial, retail, institutional, residential and/or other uses pursuant to existing zoning requirements, including parking, utilities, street, and other improvements and facilities identified as necessary or appropriate as redevelopment proceeds. The project is located on the former Stewart Army Subpost property, generally bounded by Stewart International Airport to the north and east, Route 207 to the south, and Jackson Avenue to the west.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS And Public Hearing

Orange County - The Planning Board of the Town of Wallkill, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Wal-Mart Distribution Center. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on December 18, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall, Town of Wallkill, 600 NYS Rt. 211 East Middletown, New York. Written comments will be accepted until December 30, 2002. The action includes the construction of a 1.2 million square foot regional distribution center on a 315 +/- acre parcel of land located in the Town of Wallkill, New York. The distribution center would include site grading; two access points to State Route 17K, utility extensions, and some disturbance of wetland areas on site. The project also includes the construction and formation of new water and sewer districts to supply water and sewer services to the distribution center as well as to a few other properties in the immediate vicinity of the distribution center. The project is located along New York Route 17K, bounded on the west by New York Route 17, in the Town of Wallkill, Orange County, New York, and designated as Town of Wallkill Tax Map Nos. 1-1-67.1, 1-1-66, 1-1-44, 1-1-43, 1-1-2.22, and 1-1-1.2.

Westchester County - The City Council of the City of Yonkers, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Downtown Ball Park. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Yonkers City Hall, 40 South Broadway, 4th Floor, Yonkers, New York. A public scoping session on the Draft Scoping Document will be held on January 8, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, 600 Route 211 East, Middletown, New York. The proposed Action calls for the development and construction of a minor league ballpark, retail stores and services as part of an urban redevelopment for the Chicken Island Area. The application includes the relocation of approximately twenty businesses. The project is located on Nepperhan Avenue, New Main Street, New School Street, Palisade Avenue, Yonkers, New York.
