Negative Declaration

Chautauqua County - The Town of Chautauqua, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed construction of Town Municipal Office and Court Building on Patterson Street in Mayville will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the site preparation and construction of a 12,400 square feet municipal building on Town-owned land on Patterson Street in Mayville, New York. The project is located on Patterson Street, Mayville, NY.

Chautauqua County - The Town of Chautauqua, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Chautauqua Heights Water and Sewer Districts and Water & Sewer Plant upgrades will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the establishment of Town water and sewer districts to encompass the Chautauqua Lakes Estates Condominiums and adjoining properties, which districts would acquire existing private water and sewer facilities to be upgraded after the acquisition. The project is located on Route 430, DeWittville, Town of Chautauqua.

Positive Declaration And Public Scoping

Allegany County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Hyland Facility Associates Proposed Landfill Expansion, DEC Application ID No. 9-0232-00003/00002, may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. Written comments on the draft scope will be accepted until January 3, 2003. A public scoping session will be held on December 10, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the American Inn, 128 West Main Street, Angelica, New York. The proposed action would increase the total permitted landfill footprint from approximately 90 acres (28.27 acres of landfill cell area) to a maximum of 162 acres (76.27 acres of landfill cell area). The proposed action would also increase the maximum permitted overall height of the landfill by 68 feet, from 2015 feet above sea level using the National Geodetic Vertical Datum established in 1929 (416 NGVD 29) to 2083 feet NGVD 29. The maximum daily tonnage of waste accepted would also increase from 745 to 1000 tons per day. The landfill life would be extended from 9 years to 24 to 29 years, depending on the rate of waste receipt. The facility is located on a 624.4 acre parcel on Herdman Road, which is west of Peacock Hill Road and approximately 1.5 miles south of the Village of Angelica, in the Town of Angelica, Allegany County. The expansion area is located immediately south, adjacent to the currently permitted landfill.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Erie County - The Town of Orchard Park, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Hammocks at Orchard Park. A public hearing will be held on December 18, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the Orchard Park Municipal Center, S4295 South Buffalo Street, Orchard Park, NY. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until December 31, 2002. The action involves the rezoning of approximately 41.5 acres from B-2 and R-3 for the purpose of constructing a 290-unit luxury apartment community. The project is located on the east side of Orchard Park Road, south of Southwestern Boulevard in the Town of Orchard Park.
