Project Description:
Applicant proposes to create an extension of Savannah Water District No. 1 (3rd extension)  primarily to serve the proposed Crusoe Audubon Center at Montezuma (an environmental education facility).  The additional take of supply is estimated to average 4,300 gpd from the District's 130,000 gpd  Well #1 and Well #2. Project includes the installation of 3,965 linear ft. of 8" watermain and appurtenances to serve the Center, Potato Fair, Wayne County Highway Department, and other areas already served.  District includes land around the proposed Center, land west of existing District limits and bounded by NYS Route 31 W and Messner Road, land within 500 ft. either side of Wiley Road for a distance of approximately 875 ft. south of existing District limit at Severence Rd., and land within 500 ft. of Fort Hill Rd. including residence of Michael Kolczynski.  
State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination: A draft environmental impact statement has been prepared on this project and is on file.
SEQR Lead Agency: NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination: A cultural resources survey has been completed. Based on information provided in the survey report, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has determined that the proposed activity will have no impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management: This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
