Project Description:
Proposed construction of
the Spring Run Multi-Use Recreational Trail (pedestrian and
bicycle). The 5800 foot long trail will consist of an 8 foot wide stone dust surface, and
generally follow an abandoned railroad bed from the intersection of East/Excelsior
Avenues eastward to the I-87 Northway. The project involves disturbance to 0.56 acres
of Freshwater Wetlands S-16 (class II) and S-39 (class III), and 1.25 acres of wetland
adjacent area. As mitigation, wetlands will be created in two locations: 0.23 acres on the
project site, and 0.39 acres off-site (west of Ingersoll Road, just south of the Wilton town
line, adjacent to Freshwater Wetland Q-11, class I). The project is located in the City of
Saratoga Springs.

Project Description:
The applicant is proposing
to add an additional 3.5 acres of affected area to an existing
sand and gravel operation. Mining faces will range from 10 to 60 feet in height. The
applicant projects resources totaling 35,000 cubic yards of material at the site. There will
be no on-site processing, material will be mined in its native form and directly removed
from the site. There will be a maximum of 20 truck trips per hour during peak operation.
A copy of the application may be reviewed at the NYSDEC offices in Warrensburg
during normal business hours Monday-Friday.
