|Completed Applications||Consolidated SPDES Renewals|
Region 9 - The Department of Environmental Conservation has determined that the Registry of Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites in New York State needs to be amended to delete site number 902007, known as the Deming Electroplating Site. This site is located in the Town of New Hudson, in the County of Allegany, and is located at corner Hunt Road & State Route 305. The reason for deletion is:
All known contaminated surface soil (0 - 12" in depth) that was identified during the Immediate Investigative Work Assignment (IIWA) and subsequent investigations has been removed from the site. Subsurface soil, consisting of clay which lies below the surface soil layer, was sampled and meets current standards. The concrete structure that was located during the remedial work had all water and sediment removed, was inspected and was backfilled with clean soil. Based on the results of the NYSDEC Removal Action and previous work conducted by the USEPA in the area of the drainage swale, no further work is required at the site.
Written comments on this proposed deletion are welcome, and should be sent to:
Project Manager: Gregory P. Sutton, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Region 9 Headquarters, 270 Michigan Avenue, 3rd. Floor, Buffalo, NY 14203.
All written comments must be received by December 6, 2002. A summary of all written comments will be assembled and a summary will be available for viewing at our Region 9 Headquarters in Buffalo, NY.
Erie County - The New York State Department of Transportation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Intersection with Town Line Road, CR 335 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the improvement of the intersection of NY Route 33, Genesee Street and Town Line Road in the Towns of Lancaster and Alden. The project will improve 0.5 km of Genesee Street, as well as the approach to the intersection of Town Line Road. Reconstruction on Genesee Street will include lowering the vertical alignment and lengthening the vertical curves in order to provide adequate sight distance. Installation of a left turn lane on the westbound approach will help reduce the occurrence of rear-end type accidents on Genesee Street.
