Project Description:
The applicant has submitted
a modification application in which it requests a variance
from the minimum setback provisions from property boundaries specified in the Mined
Land Reclamation Law. Specifically, the applicant requests a variance to maintain and
utilize approximately 185 linear feet of existing roadway which is situated within 25 feet
of the easterly property boundary at its sand and gravel mine located on US Route 9,
north of the Dutchess/Putnam County boundary. The applicant also proposes to plant
trees within 7,100 square feet of disturbed land within the 25 foot buffer area to provide
visual screening of the mine site from US Route 9. A visual assessment and a planting
plan have been prepared and are available for review. The applicant previously submitted
a modification application to excavate a 22 acre lake within its existing mine site. That
application and the current variance application will be referred to the Department's
Office of Hearings and Mediation Services for the scheduling of a public hearing. The
referral, including any comments received on the variance application, will occur
following the close of the public comment period on this application. No dates have been
established for the public hearing.

Project Description:
The
Town of Blooming Grove Water District #6 has applied for a Water Supply permit
(WSA# 10292) to take an additional supply of water for use in its existing water supply
and distribution system by the adding new Well #5 having a maximum tested capacity of
48 gallons per minute (gpm) based on an extended simultaneous pumptest of all three wells
in the Water District's wellfield. With this new well, the Water District would be
authorized to take an average of 66 gpm from existing Wells #3 and #4 and from new
Well #5 which have a total combined tested capacity of 118 gpm. Well #5 is located
adjacent to the intersection of Merriewold Lane North and NYS Route 208, in the Town of
Blooming Grove, Orange County, NY

Project Description:
The applicatnt proposes
to rehabilitate a solid fill, stone dock/jetty in Long Island Sound.
The project site is located on the west side of Stuyvesant Ave., approximately 0.57 mile
south of the intersection with Van Wagenen Ave. The existing structure is a remnant of a
stone jetty approximately 30 to 40 feet wide by 210 feet long that lies below the Mean
High Water (MHW) line by several feet and is partially mud-covered. The project
involves the placement of a layer of new stone over the jetty up to 4 feet thick within an
area approximately 30 to 50 feet wide by 210 feet long. A set of stone stairs will also be
constructed to the MHW line. A concrete surface, new railings and new benches will be
installed to finish the dock.
