Suffolk County - A public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Southampton on October 22, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, New York to hear any and all persons either for or against "A Local Law amending Chapter 138 (Coastal Erosion Hazard Areas) and Section 330-83K of Chapter 330 (Zoning) of the Town Code of the Town of Southampton in order to implement the recommendations of the Town of Southampton Atlantic Ocean Shoreline Generic Environmental Impact Statement to include the entire shoreline area within the scope of the Chapter 138, prohibit new or reconstructed shoreline parallel structures, modify emergency protection measures and procedures, and establish structure setback and native vegetation standards.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Suffolk County - The Central Pine Barrens Commission, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Central Pine Barren Core Preservation Area hardship permit application for Amerada Hess. The action involves requests for approvals for a change of zone from J-2 Business to J-2 and J-5 Business, and for plans to construct a gasoline filling station with four 10,000 gallon underground gasoline storage tanks, a canopy, pumps, fast-food/convenience store, parking for seventeen cars, and associated infrastructure on 1/2 acres located in the Central Pine Barrens Core Preservation Area. The project is located in the southeast corner of NYS Route 495 (Long Island Expressway) and County Route 111, Manorville, Town of Brookhaven.

Notice of Acceptance Of Final EIS

Suffolk County - The Planning Board of the Town of Huntington, as lead agency has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Old Orchard Woods (Subdivision). The action involves a request for the subdivision of a 24.21 acre wooded, variably sloped, high bluff coastal site, zoned R-80 (minimum two-acres), in order to construct ten (10) new detached single-family homes; a standard 34-foot wide access roadway and an approximate 66,072 square foot recharge basin. A proposed access roadway (Apple Drive) is shown entering the site from North Creek Road approximately at the site’s mid-point, terminating approximately 600 feet to the west in two cul-de-sacs (Peach Court, North and South). Lots 1-9 would front and have access to this new roadway. Lot 10 would front and access North Creek Road. Each lot would be 87,120 SF/2.00 acres in size in conformance with the site’s R-80 zoning. Four (4) lots are shown adjoining the Long Island Sound (Lots 3-6) incorporating an existing 3.4-acre Reserve Area created with the previous subdivision (i.e. Hogan Plat) and a 125-foot non-disturbance setback line from the top of the bluff. Sanitary wastewater collection and treatment is proposed via disposal to sub-surface septic systems. Public water is to be provided by the Suffolk County Water Authority. The project is located on North Creek Road, approximately 750 feet west of the North Creek Road/Eatons Neck Road intersection in the hamlet of Eatons Neck, Town of Huntington, designated as parcel 0400-01-01-02-4.1 on the Suffolk County Tax Map. The site has approximately 795 feet of frontage on Long Island Sound and 807 feet of frontage along North Creek Road.
